Events like this don’t just happen – Thank you to all who assisted, but especially Ian (field surveying and marking); Paul & Kim (ground booking, match card & shield admin); Matt S, Lily, Wil, Pat, Matt J, Alex, Cam, Hannah, Derek (field set up & pack up); Elise, Dave, John & Soujoud (Game day admin); Sarah, Amy, Tom, Caleb, Naomi, Michelle, Mabel & Pam (canteen); Beck (photography) and to all the coaches, managers and parents who transported kids, supported and ensured a successful day. The weather gods helped too!
Finally some stats – 2026 saw Bringelly FC’s debut after a washed out 2024 when they previously entered; Granville South HS’s debut and FC Cumberland, Melita and Kemps Creek’s first 6 a side shields (even though Kemps Creek previously won 11 competition premierships in the 70s/80s). This was Melita’s first CFA silverware in their third season in CFA. On Monday, eight different clubs won shields and a further three were runners up. It’s nice to see things shared around.
