Black Arm bands to be worn this weekend

Clubs and team managers please take note. Black armbands will be worn this weekend as a mark of respect for two amazing life members of our Association, Noel Sampson & Joan Pearson.

Vale Joan Pearson and Noel Sampson.

This weekend we pay our respects to two stalwarts of our Association, Life Members, who both passed away during the off season.

Joan Pearson was more than former secretary, Roy Pearson’s wife.  Joan was at over 90 years of age a continuing font of knowledge about ‘Churches Soccer’, having partnered Roy through our most vibrant period in the 60s, 70s and 80s.  Joan was the backbone of her family and of our Association.

Noel Sampson was Secretary and President of NSWCFA from the mid 90s through the 2000s.  Noel’s commitment to what he set his mind to made him a formidable force and this drive kept our Association together through his time of involvement.  Noel was passionate about his beloved Chester Hill and supported by his loving family throughout.

Both Joan and Noel attended our Centenary celebration dinner in 2019 and are sorely missed by all.

This Saturday junior teams will wear black armbands in remembrance of Joan and senior teams and referees will wear black arm bands in remembrance of Noel.
